A random variable is a variable whose value can be from a finite set of values or a real number from a continuous range. Every random variable is associated with a probability-distribution.
Random values can be of 2 types:
- Discrete: Discrete random values have a finite number of values to choose from
- Continuous: Continuous random values have a range of number to choose from. The value is a real number.
